Although several countries in the world, like the richest ones, have passports enabling them to travel to more than 150 countries without the need for a specific visa, the fact remains that some nevertheless find it difficult to access for other countries among the most closed in the world. The most closed countries in the world are those countries where even the most powerful passports are not accepted without a specific visa.

In addition, obtaining a visa for these countries is not easy. Among the best-known closed countries are: Russia, North Korea, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Syria, Libya and Somalia. And among the least known: Eritrea, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Bhutan, Turkmenistan, Kiribati and Nauru. All these countries require visas to access their territory. Moreover, the difficulties of obtaining these visas are various.

Kiribati, Nauru, Bhutan, Angola and Equatorial Guinea

The difficulties of obtaining visas for countries such as Kiribati and Nauru are due to the fact that they are small states, so they do not have enough consulates or embassies in the world. For example, throughout Europe Kiribati has only one consulate and Nauru four in the whole world. Bhutan is a conservative kingdom of traditions, which is why it inhibits mass tourism. Angola and Equatorial Guinea are countries with a very rich subsoil, which is why they avoid the intrusions of the unemployed foreigners.

Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Russia, Uzbekistan

Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria meanwhile it is for reasons of insecurity because these countries are subject to many troubles and for some we can access them only via a press card or if one is military except rare case like the Afghanistan. The visa for Russia is by invitation as for Uzbekistan and the filling must not have shells or you will start again as many times as you do.

Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Eritrea

Countries such as Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are very rich, collapsing under the petrodollars they do not encourage intrusions of any kind; although not favorable to tourism, it is the safest way to access it except that it is only possible having a guide paid in advance or being supervised by a travel agency. Although not against tourism, the North Korean visa is not easy. This is for the simple reason that it is regulated by the state and so everything goes through the National Directorate of Tourism; thus leading to a long waiting period to be granted that can happen up to 8 weeks. However, until today, it is not clear why Eritrea’s visa is so difficult to obtain because almost 70% of the time it is refused after waiting for an answer with an average duration of 7 weeks.
